Since the early days of the industry, when songwriters flocked to the famed Brill Building, the city has bustled with songwriters and performers. Dance, theater, and a variety of other performing arts also are on the front lines of New York’s entertainment scene, which is home to Broadway and its countless theaters dance companies such as those created by Alvin Ailey and Martha Graham and historic and modern performance spaces. One of the primary hot spots for Berklee alumni and creatives of all kinds, New York City boasts greater ticket sales and more music-industry jobs than any other location in the country.
